Prague Marriages IndexThis database contains information about 4,914 Jewish marriages in Prague, between 1784 and 1865. This data is from http://badatelna.eu/fond/1073/zaznam/3462 and http://badatelna.eu/fond/1073/zaznam/3466. The Czech State Archives have copies of Jewish record books from Bohemia and Moravia that were collected by the Nazis during WWII. These were made available on the badatlena.eu website in Fond 1073 and Fond 241. The birth, marriage and death records from Prague in Fond 1073 begin in 1784, when Austrian Emperor Josef II enacted legislation requiring Jews to make these records. The Catholic parishes were required to make copies of the Jewish records, and these are the copies that were used to create this database. There may be errors in this database, as a result of errors made by the copyists, as well as errors made by the modern transcribers, so be sure to check the originals and other sources to confirm any data.
